IMPROVING YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY - THE BASICS - WORKSHOP
Steven Sparks, an accomplished art photographer with a diversified background, will help you better understand your digital camera (any type); make better shooting decisions; and improve your post-processing. Discussions will be tailored around photo subjects you most care about…like taking pictures of your paintings, or landscapes, or family. You will receive shooting and editing checklist handouts; plus suggestions how you can learn more in the future. LOW IMPACT EXERCISE CLASS - NEW SESSION
The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for its Low Impact Exercise class. This class incorporates moderate levels of cardiovascular conditioning, balance, flexibility and strengthening segments. Under the direction of Lynn Donofrio, a certified aerobic instructor and personal trainer, participants will be coached through a 60 minute total fitness experience. Open to participants at all levels, students can work at their own pace.

CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
– The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a Calligraphy Workshop for adults. Award winning artist Minnette Webster will teach students in a small group setting. The workshop is open to all levels, beginning to experienced. Students will complete a finished piece during the session.
In this class students will learn the five “hands” in calligraphy: Single stroke, Roman, Manuscript Italic, Cursive Italic, Modified Chauncery Cursive, and Gothic or Black Letter. Additionally, the following will be introduced: borders, line finished, papers to use in calligraphy, spacing, placement on lines, and exciting and unusual techniques.

TAI CHI CLASSES FOR ADULTS AT MOSI
The Life Enrichment Center is registering adults for its new session of Tai Chi classes.
Join us for a moving meditation in Yang style Tai Chi for health. The 6-week class will meet Monday evenings from October 22nd through November 26, 2012. Classes will be held at MOSI (Museum of Science & Industry), 4801 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa.
Beginning Tai Chi meets from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Intermediate Tai Chi meets from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Research has shown that Tai Chi improves strength, balance and stamina, helping to prevent falls; increases bone density; reduces blood pressure; helps fibromyalgia symptoms; and improves overall health and wellness. Students in this class will learn to move in an ergonomic and efficient manner consistent with physics and physiology.

DRAWING INTO PAINTING
The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for new 6-week art class for adults, Drawing Into Painting. International award winning artist Debra Radke will teach students in a small group setting. Studies will include still life set-ups, landscape, 3-D models, and photo references to learn and practice line and shading techniques, color and 3-D perspective working from Drawing into Painting. This class will expand your artistic knowledge and skills. Open to all levels.

Award winning artist and instructor Debra Jo Radke will be teach the course Ms. Radke is a Tampa based painter and printmaker. She has a MFA from University of South Florida. and a BFA from Michigan State University. Her prize-winning work has been shown in many national and international exhibitions and is held in corporate and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. She recently took 2nd place in a juried show of 491 artists from 57 countries around the world and was invited to do a residency at the Lesedra Gallery in Europe next year.

NEW WATERCOLOR CLASS
The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a new watercolor class for adults. This class is for beginners or those who have experience. Students can choose to paint in either watercolors or Sumi-e Asian brush painting, both water-based mediums. Artists who paint in other styles have found it helpful to learn the strokes and brush control in Sumi-e painting. Increase your skills in either medium.
The 6-week course will start on Monday, October 15th through November 26, 2012 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. The course fee is $75 for members of the Life Enrichment Center or $90 for non-members. Annual membership to the Life Enrichment Center starts at $30.
The course will be taught by Susan McKay. Ms. McKay studied art at Columbus College of Art and Design and spent 25 years as a commercial designer, writer and illustrator. She has been teaching art classes for more than 30 years.

The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for an evening art class, Painting in Acrylics & Oils. In this class, students will learn the basics of oil or acrylic painting. Perspective, floor, mixing, blending and brush control will be explored. This class will expand your artistic knowledge and skills. Students of all levels are welcome.

THE PAGES OF MY LIFE - WRITING YOUR LIFE STORY
— Each of us is a living legacy of memories, experiences, and history. By writing down our stories we create more than a family legacy—we discover certain themes in our lives and develop greater wisdom about ourselves. The Life Enrichment Center’s Pages of My Life—Writing Your Life Story class will help individuals collect and compile their life stories.
Pages of My Life is taught by author and editor Paula Stahel, who is immediate past president of the Association of Personal Historians Inc. With her help, you will learn to tap into your natural talent for preserving your stories.
“You get excited about the prospect of writing, even your own story that you thought no one would want to hear,” says Sally Baker, who had a story published in The Tampa Tribune after taking the class. “Paula’s class was one of the best experiences I’ve had while learning. It was very educational, but at the same time fun and enjoyable. Paula’s interest and depth are very contagious.”

MODERN DANCE FOR ADULTS
Tampa, Florida – Forever Moving, Tampa Bay area’s first and only modern dance company for adults, is now accepting new members for the Fall session of classes. The next class starts Friday, September 7th through September 28, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. It is open to adults of all ages, with or without dance experience.
Participants will enjoy creative exploration and modern dance instruction, with an introduction to choreographic tools and methods. Professional choreographer Susan Taylor Lennon will lead the classes. Ms. Lennon is Professor of Dance at The University of Tampa, where she also serves as director of the UT Dance Program. She has received numerous awards including the Louise Loy Hunter Award, the highest official honor to be bestowed on a faculty member at UT. Forever Moving is a contemporary dance project offered by the Life Enrichment Center in partnership with the Arts Council of Hillsborough County.

PASTELS: PURE AND SIMPLE FUN
The Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a new 6 week class for adults, Pastels: Pure and Simple Fun. Whether you never tried pastels in your life, or you want to take your pastel painting to the next level, this class is for you. You will learn the basics of this wonderful medium and techniques to take your work from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Since pastels are made from pigment (just like acrylic, oil and watercolor), but made into solid sticks, you will be amazed at the painterly quality you can achieve and the brilliant colors to use at your fingertips since there is no mixing. Demonstrations, lots of individual attention, and lots of fun.

Award winning artist Lorraine Potocki teaches the class. Her medium, pastels, allows her to capture the beauty of Florida's beaches, wildlife, and environment. She has exhibited her work widely throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond. Ms. Potocki graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Fine Arts and Education and continues to use both areas of expertise in her career.

MODERN ART - PAINTING IN ACRYLICS WORKSHOP
Life Enrichment Center is registering now for a new workshop,
Modern Art – Painting in Acrylics, with James Vann. This workshop will give students a free form opportunity to think outside the box and explore different painting styles. This class is open to all levels and is appropriate for a beginner as well as the emerging artist looking to enhance their style. Students will learn to paint in the form of Neo-cubism.
The three hour workshop will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from

James Vann graduated from the high school of Art & Design in New York City, majoring in animation and illustration. He also attended the Albert Pels School of Art in New York City. There, he studied commercial art and illustration. Shortly after he began his career as a Corrections Officer at the NYC Dept. of Corrections, his artistic talent was recognized by officials and he was promoted to the position of Art Director in the Public Affairs Division. In that capacity, he taught art classes to inmates in all of New York City Jails & on Rikers Island.
He has had many group & solo exhibitions throughout New York City and Tampa and has received commissions for designs and murals from the NYC Police & Fire Dept., NYC Dept. of Corrections, and the Hillsborough County Public Art Committee. He recently completed a commission project of six large murals at the Tampa Police Dept. District III headquarters in east Tampa. His work has been widely exhibited in numerous locations in the United States.

WEIGHT LOSS & HEALTH PROGRAM - G.I.F.T. - GET INTO FITNESS TODAY
